I’m your average kid
I’m a person who never received a lot of things
I’m a kid with big dreams
I’m a kid who never had a PlayStation 4
I’m a kid who wanted that and more
I’ve attempted suicide 5 times in my life
But God had all of them denied
I’m a victim of abuse
But I thank God for my mentality and because I pushed through
I’m recovering from depression
And the effects it has caused
I’m the kid who is called stupid sometimes by my family members because of my slow brain
I’m the emotional kid who goes through a lot of pain
I’m the kid who is misunderstood
My parents don’t understand my goals and what I want to do
I want to help others in need
I want to help others who can’t see so that they can see
I may not be that talented one but I will help you with my might
Even though on my weakest days I fight for what is right
But they think all I do is watch TV and slouch the whole day
Little do they know everyday I pray
All at the age of 17
This is the story of my life
This is what happens every time
Now you know your poet and who he is
The things he goes through and his dreams
I’m here to tell you it’s not too late
Don’t think your current darkness is your fate
The power to change is up to you
We all have a choice
The fact that you made it through the day is a reason to rejoice
Keep going I believe in you
