Who am I?

Who Am I?

I am a girl with scars; don’t compare yours to mine.
While you worry about depression and what others think,
I worry if my family will survive. We are not the same.

You have hatred for a friend who hurt you.
I have hatred for a country that took innocent lives
and mocks my homeland to this day.
Don’t compare me to you because you don’t know what I endure.
Don’t claim to be misunderstood if you’ve never been in a country at war.

So, who am I?
My eyes speak for themselves.
My mouth holds hatred, yet I still smile.
My heart pumps vengeance, yet I still choose to love.
Don’t compare yourself to me.

I have seen things words can’t express.
I have cried until no sound could escape.
I have said things that should have locked me up.

So, who am I?
I am someone who has faced far worse than you.
So don’t compare me to you.
